2022-05-19 13:11:12 +0000 UTCThat was such a wonderful interview. It was very interesting to hear about Colin’s career, not only the triumphs, but also the struggles. His perseverance paid off. Especially with his role on Once Upon a Time. And it’s clear you two are very close and supportive of each other. I did have a giggle when Colin mentioned how he felt about parties, I’m the same way. It frustrates my husband sometimes, but it is what it is. Thank you for sharing this with us.

2020-07-01 13:10:56 +0000 UTCLate to the party but glad to be here! I feel like a lucky girl having “discovered” Once Upon a Time during quarantine - a family show I could watch with my kids. And then going down the rabbit hole I tend to do when I become a fan of an actor. That led me to discover your platform! Podcasts get me thru my work day and yours is one of favorites Allen. You are such an amazing interviewer and instantly set a calm, safe space.

2020-05-19 10:15:06 +0000 UTCHello, just wanted to say here, THANK YOU to you and Colin for sharing parts of his story with us. I really felt like I was a fly on the wall, listening to you two chat over coffee. I know that your real conversations probably are nothing like this, but that is the vibe that it gave off. Also, I just want to suggest that Colin interview you! I'd be interested in hearing your journey as well :-) Besides it will give Colin something to do during this lock in. Take care! Love to you both.

2020-05-19 00:40:48 +0000 UTCReally interesting interview Allen. Many thanks to yourself and Colin for allowing us this insight. There is not much I can say that hasn’t already been said apart from the fact that I have always been amazed at the ability to ‘transform’ into a character - and this is done with tremendous effect and talent when Colin played Capt Hook. To be someone who is admittedly more reserved and perhaps introverted who can suddenly become the complete opposite and create such a well fleshed out character who so many people took to their hearts is a true achievement. Brilliant stuff - thank you for taking the time to do this for everyone.

2020-05-14 15:32:25 +0000 UTCThank you so much for doing and sharing this with us! You really ask great questions that lead to insightful conversations, it was so interesting. I ended up with my cheeks hurting because I smiled so much all along. You concluded this podcast beautifully, hoping Colin's story inspires us to follow our dreams. It does inspire us, and that's one of the main reasons why I'm a fan; I was lucky enough to meet him at conventions and he always has some inspiring words to share such as "believe in yourself" or "if you're going to do something, do it 100%" - the sort of messages that your whole family seems to be spreading. When you asked him about conventions and he said it was more about fans getting together than about fans going there to meet him, I thought "come on, when will he understand?" but then it sounded like believing this makes going to conventions easier for him and I thought "oops" because I did tell him he was the reason I was going to conventions; sure, meeting other fans/friends is nice, but it's him who makes it magically inspiring, but I promise I'll try not to tell him that again 🙊😂 At these conventions, he also talked several times about how he got there thanks to the support from the whole family and every time it made me feel so grateful for you all because if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't know him (or you!) and honestly my life these past few years would have been quite different. It was quite moving to hear in your podcast how supported he is and how proud you are, it's beautiful. And then there were these questions that you asked and that led to such relatable answers. First, "Once Upon a Time changed my life." It would be too long to detail how or why, but same, it made me who I am today. Then, there was this talk about LA and the opportunity to talk to the right people and make useful connections "but that's not me, that was never me, [...] I was never good at talking to people in parties, [...] I'd rather sit in a corner until I have to go home." It feels so great to relate to him because for so long I thought introversion was something wrong, something I had to fight as it was the reason why I never had many friends. I think it's only when I joined the fandom a few years ago that I realised how many introverts there truly were, and I really embraced it when I realised Colin was one of us, because he's the evidence that introverts can succeed, and that all the while staying true to himself, which he showed again by saying he could have tried to talk to the right people in LA "but that's not me, that was never me." The last bit of the interview that stuck out to me was what he said about acting, "I just feel like it's what I'm meant to do," which is so powerful because it's relatable and, for him, it worked, so maybe it can work for us too. That's all I'm going to say, I talked way too much already, I guess that's the proof you do inspire us! All that to say: thank you so much, the two of you!

2020-05-14 11:53:46 +0000 UTCPart II of the podcast was just as lovely as the first! He's a true inspiration, humble and admirable, regardless of what profession or career or anything you have going in your life, I think his outlook on life is one that many could adapt to. Hearing how he persevered and having that feeling of know he was meant to be an actor is truly something amazing because not everyone gets that feeling all the time. The support of family and friends really speaks volumes to me and it's so great that he's surrounded by that type of positivity and has that encouragement to keep going. He had actually given me a bit of encouraging words at one point "Look on the bright side, life's too short to waste worrying about everything." and I feel like that came from a good, thoughtful place, knowing he has all that support around him. The part about being introverted and being in the corner at parties really resonated with me as well, as that's who I am and something that I can relate to. I also really appreciated listening to the part about conventions. It was interesting hearing Colin's take on that because I've gone to the first and continue to go and I could see his growth and comfort level change as time went on (he even gave me some travel tips on Ireland at one :) ). I loved hearing about OUAT but more specifically the time in Vancouver and the family he made out there and continues to stay close to. And finally, The Right Stuff! I'm so thrilled and looking forward to seeing this. You can feel his excitement about it and it gets everyone else buzzing too! I could go on and on but just wanted to say thank you, Allen, for putting this interview together with Colin. It's been such a joy to listen and you are both truly inspiring people and to have it during this period in everyone's life has been refreshing and uplifting. I have to go back and listen to some of your other podcasts yet, but I look forward to your next one! Stay safe and cheers to both of you and your families.

2020-05-14 01:21:32 +0000 UTCHi Allen I just wanted to say thankyou so much to you and Colin for part 2 of his interview. I absolutely loved it. It was so amazing and inspiring hearing his story about the ups and downs and about the friendships he's made with the other actors he's worked with like on Once upon a time. It was also so lovely to hear how when he thought about giving up acting when times were tough you and your parents and his Helen supported him and encouraged him to keep trying and not give up. One thing that really resonated with me was when he talked about being introverted and how at things like parties he would rather sit in a corner till it's time to go home well that's me to a tee because i have always been very shy but listening to him say that he has pushed through it and come out of his shell a bit has given me confidence to believe i can aswell. It's so lovely listening to you two talk because tou can tell you are best friends aswell as brothers. Being a huge fan of Colin's i have seen most of the things he's been in i especially love OUAT and look forward to The Right Stuff and to following his career for many more years to come. Thankyou again to you both for sharing this with us. Love to you both and your families stay safe.

2020-05-13 23:35:54 +0000 UTCThank you so much for organizing this and sharing it with us! When Colin talked about becoming a sort-of family with his co-actors in Once Upon a Time, I was reminded of my time in university, where I had moved out of my parents' house, and met lots of people who had done the same and were exploring that new part of life, with all its challenges, with almost no other support system there. I feel both understanding for Colin connecting with his co-actors, and supported myself by seeing that connecting that way with people when you've taken such a new step can happen at any moment in your life, whether you're just a freshman in university or an accomplished actor who landed a stable job for six years. I felt so happy getting to see you both talk about Colin's development and career - especially since you, Allen, have a better insight as a brother than any random interviewer - and boy I had heard about Home for Christmas, and like any other work Colin's in I've always wanted to see it, but now that I heard more about it... I just wish so hard it was available for us to watch somewhere, haha. Overall, lovely interview, loved getting to see both your insights to acting and motivating yourself in general, and again, thank you for sharing this!

2020-05-13 20:48:40 +0000 UTCThis second part was as lovely and fantastic as the first! It’s been so great to hear Colin talk about his experiences and to get some understanding on how he approaches things, both good and bad. There were even some moments in this second part where I may have teared up a little (I’m a sap though, so... 😅). Thank you so much, Allen and Colin, for doing this and taking the time to put out something so amazing. It is truly appreciated!!

2020-05-13 18:15:16 +0000 UTCAllen that was Lovely and Fantastic 😊👍🏻 it is so important that we see the humanity in everyone, especially those in the entertainment industry since we get caught up in the characters/roles they play! Thank you to You & Colin. Colin is the first actor that I have been completely taken in by (I am not a spring chicken 😂) and hearing his genuine and honest comments makes me that much more of a fan. You are great to listen to and I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts! Thank you again

2020-05-13 18:12:15 +0000 UTCThis was fantastic to listen to. Colin is brilliant and completely himself - no airs or graces and very humble. Very interesting to hear that he remains introverted to this day - I’m socially awkward at gatherings myself so I understand his viewpoint. I love how supportive you’ve been to him Allen ( as have your parents and Colin’s wife ) - you’re clearly friends as well as close brothers and as I’ve said before - your interview technique is so calm and we just hear a friendly, informal chat between you but the interview flows. Brilliant! Good luck to you both- you both deserve it. Can’t wait to see The Right Stuff and what Colin brings to the world in the future. Looking forward to your next interview Allen - keep them coming! 😀👏👏👏👏

2020-05-13 18:02:33 +0000 UTCFantastic interview! I have really enjoyed hearing both parts of these interviews. Colin's story is quite inspirational in how he didn't get famous overnight. He really had to work for it and believe in himself and I really admire that. It also helped that he has such a wonderful family who didn't let him give up. I'm also very introverted like him so hearing that he broke out of his shell a bit has really motivated me to break out of my shell. Thanks for this podcast, Allen! I loved it! ❤️

2020-05-13 17:23:18 +0000 UTCThank you so much for this Allen, and Colin! This was such an amazing podcast. I would definitely consider myself an introverted person and hearing Colin talk about how he pushes through it gives me confidence that I can do the same! Thank you again! ❤️

2020-05-13 16:58:49 +0000 UTCPart 2 was great lovely listening to how hard Colin has worked to get to where he is now. It shows that you need to put in the effort to get things out of it, sometimes things maybe hard and you might feel like giving up but that one time you feel like giving up a door might open for you. I have thought like that a few times in my life but i have pushed myself forward, I don't have a lot of confidence in myself and I am shy too so i find it hard to do. To Colin thank you for joining Allen on this podcast and sharing your story with us all, I hope more opportunities come your way I love you and the work you do. See you at the Enchanted convention in April 2021 looking forward to seeing you until then take care stay safe x

2020-05-13 16:38:41 +0000 UTCThis was a great interview thank you. The subtle shift from brothers to interviewer/interviewee did make me laugh in both parts though,1st i can practically see the eye roll that all older brothers seem to have perfected when you have to remind him that your listeners weren't there when he grew up and in this one in this one its the "yep" when you thank him,, you're clearly friends as well as brothers x

2020-05-13 16:25:49 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed your interview with Colin. It was wonderful to hear about his career. Many of the things you both talked about I have never heard before.
