We’re OK

Should’ve sent this sooner. We’re ok. I’m without power. Sev had power when I checked on his house. Obviously it’s going to be a it for us to finally get our files out but I wanted to let you know that we’re ok. Thankfully, neither of us had damage (other than we both need to replace a few old bits of fence that broke). I’ve sent a lot of lucky people in my travels and a thankfully just a few unlucky ones. There were cars that trees fell around but without even scratching the car. Big trees that only hit the road and not even the power lines. I’ve driven through 2ft deep water, under a tree, around trees. There’s still hardly any gas anywhere. I had a generator but it leaked and I wasn’t able to siphon the gas out before I realized. My parents’ generator is ok so we took all our food there. Other than that we maintain a god stock of stuff and have things for camping so it hasn’t been too bad. A cold front came through and made it livable though it’s getting hot again (but another front should be on the way!). I’ve been soaking in a cold tub and then taking a cold shower and at night it’s been in the low 70s down to the upper 60s in the morning which has been good. During Irma it was way hotter but my parents had power so I charged a battery for a fan that would get me cool enough to sleep. This time I’ve been saving that battery because I don’t know when I’ll need it. So far I’ve only used it to operate my coffee grinder. Anyway, that’s about it. While this thing missed us directly most of the wind came through here so it sucked. But overall we were extremely lucky. Anyway, I’ll write again when things are better.
