Stephen Jones Trial. V2. Early Access

As mentioned in my previous post, i've made some alterations to this edit. Nothing major. A few cuts shifted into different positions and some tidy ups. Added subtitles to the body cam footage when Steven was arrested and that's about it. If you've watched the first one, you don't need to watch this one as it's very similar to the first edit.

I was thinking I might make this one public sometime tomorrow, about 16-20 hours from the time of this post, to get it out there before people get snowed under with Christmas shopping.
I'll make another post with a few updates on what's coming up when I public this one.

Stephen Jones Trial. V2. Early Access

Comments

I have to say this one was difficult and surprising. I do not think Steven was justified in shooting.. but I have to say I did think the frat boys seemed like they were acting horribly to begin all this .. I had to go back and look at the maps at the beginning just to make sure I wasn't crazy but... the frat guys chased steven and his friends off the property and then into a parking lot across the street right? Mostly yelling, until one of them goes ahead and suckerpunches him, which we could guess is when his tooth comes out.. The fact they were all heavily intoxicated just confirmed for me that this was some mob bullying behavior that was pretty nasty. My brother was in a frat and I remember being surprised by how aggressive and egotistical some of these boys could get when they were drinking together and it could be pretty mean. Like stuff they never would have done individually (or sober). Very sad all around. I believe in response the shooting was ultimately a retaliatory act given that he got his gun and returned. I personally did not believe that he legitimately felt he was being pursued to the car, I just didn't find his testimony on that bit convincing at all. I think he was hurt physically and his ego was also hurt and he then acted impulsively to get his gun and take action

My Dad on the other hand was a big softy himself haha What I learned from him was to avoid all conflict at all costs. That's what you get from surfy hippy types. Love him to bits though!

The one on Michael Petersen? It’s excellent! He does a lot of funny stuff with owl.

That tale is truly one of the oldest in human history. I often wonder how and why alcohol is still legal

Thanks for watching, Kevin. In this case in particular, I found the defence to be rivetting, and the state to be lacking. Not so much due to the truth of the matter, but just how they conducted themselves. Crazy to see what a good attorney can do hey!

I felt as though a lot of his testimony was coached on hwo to say the right things for self defence. I wonder how he would've come across had this not been the case.

That's a huge compliment, Stephanie. Thank you. I really respect Matt's work as well. I haven't watched his latest one yet. Have you?

A++ Dave my man. Knocked it out of the park again. Your growing confidence, willingness to take risks with story and editing as well as your skills, already impressive, are put on display here. Fabulous story, well told with ever improving editing. Good job Dave. It seems that is it only with you and Matt Orchard that I can sit back and enjoy the skill with which the story is told. 😘

Not only does Stephen Jones appear unlikable, he comes across as a straight up liar. He got his gun out of his car. All he had to do was continue sitting in his car and lock the doors. No gun, no death, no injury, just boys yelling. Jones IS a bad guy.

Stephanie Gulick

Yeah, the “level” being soft as toilet tissue. Boys not learning to fight with their hands leads to boys not becoming men and then needing guns to feel safe. Coward shit

As I’m sure I’m not the first to notice, there are a lot of parallels to Rittenhouse here. Just like that case, innocence or guilt aside, the defense attorney is a total bulldog. He got under their skin during cross without coming off as a bully. Closing argument seemed engaging and concise. I’m fully aware this is only a snippet of the trial but these are my observations. People beef with defense lawyers because often times they’re seen as extensions of the defendant (and a big meanie) rather than an advocate, so I like to highlight when they’re doing their job well. Not cheap - reverse mortgage your house kinda thing. Thanks as always Dave, this one was a banger.

Alcohol, Testosterone and a guy who makes a dumb choice: a tale as old as time. Thankfully, this tale now includes miracle-working trauma surgeons.

My dad used to say, “don’t throw the first punch, but if someone else does, you end it” … but this is taking it to a whole other level! 😳
