Dragon Skull Update.

A quick update. We received feedback from many of you that you wanted a way to gain access to the Dragon Skull Talisman .stl file awarded to the winners of the monthly painting contests. Some of you don't paint your models at all or just don't have a social media where you can post your painted minis. We still want to maintain a good prize with a level of exclusivity for those who decide to take on the challenge and enter the contest so we have come up with a solution that will hopefully solve both needs.
After 3 months of contests, when a new skull will be announced, the old one will become available on my mini factory where patrons will be able to buy it at a discounted price. The winners of the contest will win this model for free as well as get it before it gets released to the general public. In addition the version received by the winners of the painting contest will have the markings of the veteran trapper carved into the skull as well as a file with no markings. The version able to be purchased later will not have these markings on it and will only be received by winning the contest.
We hope that this allows the reward to feel worth it and maintain some exclusivity as well as make all our models available to everyone who would like to get them.

2020-04-30 05:04:40 +0000 UTCWell it’s not cheap to pay sculptors so unless people vote for a dragon skull as a stretch goal each month it’s just not financially feasible to create two significantly different models that are essentially free. It’s certainly a possibility to have a skull every month in the future if that’s what patrons vote for.

2020-04-29 20:54:43 +0000 UTCI can see your perspective however giving it to patrons for free gets rid of a large part of the incentive to enter the contest. Luckily as the patreon grows there will be plenty of models added to your base pledge that will further increase the value of your patronage.

2020-04-29 19:26:53 +0000 UTCPersonally, I think giving all patrons a different version would be better. For example, winner gets the one with the carved symbols, everyone gets the plain one. I am not sure I love the idea of being asked to buy an additional STL that was made for the Patreon. :/
