My ms paint skills are pretty poor but I think the graph should be readable. I thought some of you might find that interesting.
Okay! So, that was pretty crazy. The view counter for the channel just ticked over to 1 million. 200,000 of that came in the past 3 days. Patreon hit 100 pledges. Subscribers is about to get to 27,000. It was around 15,000 the day No Man's Sky went up.
I'm freaking out to be perfectly honest. My viewership just doubled in such a short time that I don't know how to handle it. When I first started I would picture how 100, then 500, then 1,000 people would look like in an area. It quickly becomes unfathomable. But it's more than that--there are twice as many people who want to be alerted when the next video goes up. There's a... culture... I guess, almost, of people that I'm used to seeing. Names and avatar icons that I recognize in the comments of each video. That's going to be completely different. These new people won't be stumbling onto my channel through a link they saw and being surprised. They come with expectations.
I know it doesn't matter because all I can do is keep going as I always have. But holy hell is it intimidating. Some of you new guys pledged a _lot_ of money. Some of you have been continuing support for _months_. All I can say is thank you and hope that the new stuff lives up to it.
I'm not doing pledge rewards just yet. I want to a video soon that reviews the channel and makes some of the policies I've discussed here "official", since it'll be stated in a video. I'll probably talk about pledge rewards then. This month should have Fallout 4 DLC and Dark Souls 3 DLC (depending on how long it is). I'm a few days behind because of all of the messages and comments I replied to over the past few days but my wife and I have aligned our schedules much better.
I was also thinking about doing a quick video that introduces Subnautica, The Long Dark, and Don't Starve? I don't know if that's a good fit though.
Oh, and someone requested that I make a post here announcing each new video that goes up. That's a good idea and I should have been doing it already. So if those kinds of emails might annoy you, you might want to turn the notification off in advance.
Thank you again. This week has been crazy. Turns out what happened at the end of No Man's Sky was lucky after all.
