My patience for this show is running so very thin 😅

I agree this episode was soooo boring, it was just people standing around telling us stuff that we never saw happen and don't really care about. Then the last ten minutes suddenly there's a maze and some half-baked idea about hearts in brains and it all gets wrapped up before I can even think about how stupid what I just watched was. It felt like they wrote the first draft, patted themselves on the back, and didn't try to make it actually good beyond their superficial messaging I think your theory about the Doctor purposely dragging Belinda around cause he's lonely is a super cool theory and would give an interesting new dynamic, but idk if there's time left in the season to flesh that out especially considering how much is going on heading into the finale. Although after seeing last season's finale I don't think anything is really off the table Yeeeess I've been seeing the extreme glaze fest for Jo Martin Doctor online and I've never understood it. The 0.4 seconds of screen time are fine at best, and don't really give me Doctor vibes. Honestly to me her character's personality feels more like old bitter Amy from that episode where she gets trapped in the quarantine facility (The Girl Who Waited I think) than it does the Doctor's personality That little pig slop rant at the end had me cackling 😂😂 Also, Happy Birthday!!

I think this episode and its writer have their heart in the right place. It doesn't feel like some callous dogshit shat out by McTighe or Davies. It's a great concept, well-realized and acted and clearly comes from a personal place. It's just a total shambles of overcomplicated lore and underexplained backstories. Absolute brain-death not using the window-animations to SHOW instead of TELL those crucial backstories. And Belinda shouldn't have been here at all, she just spits out shitty lines and accomplishes nothing. Would that mean we don't get enough time with her? Yes, but that's why you don't have 8 episodes and give one to Ruby Sunday. My biggest gripe was the Doctor needing to be surrounded by fellow black people to feel welcomed and at home. That runs so counter to the show's message, it's despicable. The Doctor can't find a place to belong with a mixture of races? Only white people, or East Asian people? Only the Ood? Teaching people to just see colour and acting like it's acceptable to want to only be around your own race. It's actually validating the mindset of the Finetime residents. It AGREES with them. It makes them sound reasonable for wanting a white enclave. Fucking unbelievable self-destruction of an ill-thought-out attempt at racial commentary. And yeah, I've always hated the Doctor beating the badddies by just being so special. How he scares the Vashta Nerada away in Forest of the Dead, for example. Why not do that hours ago and save the crew? Or in the Eleventh Hour, yeah. Annoying.
