Dune definitely is mesmerising. Elva got into the books after we saw the first one but I’m yet to, maybe one day. Fuckin love to hear people reading republic of pirates, that shit slaps

2025-01-24 16:40:42 +0000 UTCI fell in love with Dune in 2024, I watched part 1 because of the hype around Part 2. And then booked to see part 2 the following day. Since then I've read all 6 of the main books, watched the movies and TV series, and even written about Dune for my university essays. Not much about 2024 really stands out to me, but my experience with Dune. I also read republic of pirates! Which I really loved, learning about blackbeard was incredibly interesting. The fact he may have grown up so close to Rogers is amazing

2025-01-24 12:14:42 +0000 UTCI second this. While they do focus on different aspects, I think Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror is easily one of the best adaptations (and it's the first one), and I think it should be watched regardless of preparation

One thing: I think it’s great you’re prepping eggers movie, however more important I think is to watch the original two versions of Nosferatu, given they all focus on a completely different societal/person phenomenon. If you’ve ever seen a Dracula movie, you will obviously know the basic plot so I wouldn’t worry about spoiling the new one given its theme drift quite drastically to the originals
