2018-09-09 09:00:02 +0000 UTCAlright then gamers, time for an advice section. My girlfriend and I broke up over the Summer and I handled it pretty well. Obviously, it wasn't a picnic and I wasn't at my best for a week or so but I got through it with help from The Witcher 3. Then on Friday, I had my first day at college So I find my tutor base and walk through the door and who the fuck else but my ex is directly opposite the door as I walk in. Heart kind of stops for a moment (this being the first time I had any form of interaction with her since the breakup) and I sit down and my mates give me the "yeah, shit" look. Then the entire day she seems to be everywhere. It's really weird, I was caught completely off guard by this and I genuinely just felt sick each time I saw her, I suppose because until now I've just been able to bury my head in the sand and not address it. Like I don't have anything against her and we parted on as good of terms that I could have hoped for but just having to get over it whilst being in the same space is likely gonna be a challenge judging by day one. So basically the question is: How the fuck do I get over her?

So I went to a Sam Smith concert the other day and I was in the front row right next to the stage. Absolutely amazing performance and he can really sing. Anyways, I went with a girl I met at training cause her boyfriend broke up with her and she had the extra ticket (that's how I got my ticket). The emotions were real at the end cause she shed a tear at the end. Afterwards, we went to bar to grab some drinks and she was really raw emotionally. She said and I quote, "I need someone to love me tonight". Relatively easy sure, but I'm not a dick and didn't want to take advantage of her in this emotional state so I told her that "I'm all for having fun but what I'm offering tonight may not solve what you're feeling. You need time to work that out". And then she looked me in the eye and said "Give me the time of my life". Well as you can guess we hooked up. The next day we were very clear what last night was and ended up going back being friends. As a side note, when I said that I was "offended" I meant that as a joke. I work in finance/investing and being able to banter and have thick skin is a must. Anyways, hope you guys had an amazing week!
