Hasselblad 500C & Portra 800 (expired)

Got a Hasselblad on loaner from my pal Kev. I also got a hold of some expired film, so was keen to get through it.

I've been feeling the urge for a medium format camera recently, and have already decided that if I do MF, then it has to be film as I don't want anything larger than my current full frame set up with digital bodies.

I took a walk in Glasgow, and got through a roll of Portra 400. I'm only skipping that roll for now because it's not diretly relevant to the YouTube video I just shared. The first shot here was from that day in Glasgow, though. And the evening I fired off a few frames of our livingroom since Robyn has decorated it for Halloween, and also a couple dog portraits.

I hoped to finish the roll before the following morning, so I could shoot on Ektar. However, I didn't manage it.

The first photo I actually took 3 frames. Admitedly, it was predominantly so I could get a shift on with the Portra. The second of those 3 is my favourite, I think. I do prefer how the cloud cover sits with the moon in the third frame, but the subtle addition of some movement/life with the birds in the second gives it the edge.

For the last frame, the sky lit up from the sunrise and there was subtle shades of pink breaking through. This is emphasised somewhat with the film. The shot of the towerblocks/goal post was the shot I wanted from the morning, but the pinker scene from just behind those flats wound up being my favourite.

I feel like I didn't truly realise the difference while I was shooting, but the light changed dramatically in those 20 minutes. The next roll (Ektar) highlights the change even more dramatically. I'll get those photos up as well.
