absence and new gear
Added 2024-07-24 11:34:26 +0000 UTCI've neglected to update this lately, I went down a mental health hole a few weeks ago, and while I am out the other side of that now, I've just been... busy?
I've managed to bag myself the new Nikon Z6iii. Despite being a Nikon DSLR shooter back in the day before I went Fuji, and then ultimately to Leica, going to the Nikon Z series wasn't something I ever expected to do. EVF's fuck my eyes, and I just love the optical rangefinder system with my M bodies too much.
I got the Z7ii because it afforded me the ability to scan and restore my great uncle's slide archive, but I ended up mostly using it for video, which I dunno, has awoken some video dickhead inside me that just won't quit. For the kind of videos I'm wanting to make, it wasn't quite cutting it and to be honest the 45mp sensor was fucking overkill.
The Z6iii was announced and holy fuck, it more than covers my needs. So I sold the Z7ii and some other items and here we are. I've been out with it the last few days, here's some stills plus a couple of screen grabs from a wee video I'll be releasing soon.
Tomorrow I'm heading to Stoke-on-Trent with my pal Stephen of allmyfriendsaresynths fame, as we're playing some mad electronic night. I'm gonna take the Z6iii with me and try to make some sort of 'tour' video (even if it is only 1 night).
Anyway, gonna try get a new video out this eve if I get my film back from the lab, so gonna jump back to editing.
I'll update again soon to share some actual stuff and not be talking about gear like a boring gammon.
