Added 2024-06-25 22:50:41 +0000 UTCTransport Scotland informed the community-run Kingston DIY Skate Park community that it is a "Dead area below M8 West Street" and that they would be errecting fencing to completely seal the area from the public. This is a discrace. Save the Kingston DIY Skate Park.

Robyn passes this place all the time in the car, and I learned of the issues it's facing through her initially, and then through some pals online. The STV was due down to film a section for the local news, so we went along to watch some skating and to take some photos!
Must admit, I felt ancient when I got there. Undoubteddly all in my head, and I almost didn't bother taking any photographs. Got over myself and just fucking did it. I mean they were being filmed. Why the fuck would they care if I was taking photos aswell? It's been a little while since brain funk got me like that, but I'm pleased I basically shrugged it off. Anyway, I am rambling. Here's the photos!
I'd have liked to have spent a little more time, and gotten a little closer to the action, but there's a couple that I do really like, like the guy that took a fall in the half pipe; the expression on the guy watching as his friend makes contact with the bottom of the pipe. He was okay, btw! Just got up like it was nothing and carried on. Love to see that.
