Gone away for the week. To Scarborough, my home town.
I want to try and put a video together while I’m here. So thought it run down the gear that I’ve brought:
I’m on a huge film kick, and am shooting all aspects of my personal life on film this year. Bringing this was a no brainer, as I’m here all week. Besides, not being able to immediately see the results means I can take photos as normal and concentrate on video.
Brought this along as it’s quick and effortless to use when I’m not actually working on the video. Lowlight evenings and nights with the family won’t be an issue and means I can easily take some photos if I want to. Any photos I share this week will likely be direct from the Q2 given that I don’t have my computer with me.
Its primary purpose is to archive my great uncles slide collection, but when I’m not doing that its main function is video. I use manual lenses, so bodies with the latest and greatest autofocus features weren’t even close to being considered when buying this.
I have a smallrig cage that I put together for video purposes, and have a Desview Field Monitor pre-loaded with some nice LUTs so I can get a solid idea of how the footage will look on the go.
A couple of vintage lenses from my friend Stephen. He has an incredible and vast selection of posts on his photo blog allmyfriendsarejpegs and you should also check his YouTube out for various synth, video, and photography related madness.
Tiny action cam for chaotic and no brainer video that I can use in my monthly vlogs. It’s also fully waterproof, should I want to throw it in a lake.
I like to record environmental audio, and this thing lets me do it real nice. Having 6 inputs is excessive for my video needs, but that does come in handy for when I’m recording music etc.
That’s it!
