The Devil's Pulpit.
When I worked in the camera shop, a couple of american tourists came in. They were stuck, as they'd just landed in the country and the camera they bought for their travel was dead on arrival. They wanted it repairing, except we didn't do repairs. I offered to take a look on the offchance I could fix it.
It became immediately apparant that I could not.
The camera itself was some cheap plastic point and shoot, and I told them to wait while I went into the back and dug out my bag of emergency cameras - that probably sounds stupid, but I'd accidentally left the house without a camera once and so leaving a bag of my mostly ruined but perfectly usable cameras at work meant that I'd have something to shoot with in such instances if I were in the city - anyway, I had two options for them to try. A couple of Pentax point and shoots.
I can't remember what their camera was at all, but I couldn't be sure how exactly it was using the film - if it had wound it all forward out of the cartridge to take back in, for example. They'd shot about 6 shots, but weren't arsed about keeping those photos so I cut the film and took the cartridge. Turned out that the film was still in the cartridge. I figured I'd just gift them a roll of my UltraMax and I could just use the rest of theirs going forward, it was Kodak and had '400' written on the canister... so I think they had UltraMax too?
Anyway, I that's the roll I took to the devil's pulpit. I went tonto and finished the roll there, as I didn't wanna risk it be ruined and screwing up photos from any other outings going forward.
