The 33rd County: The Town

We've finally gotten Shocks his own show, and we're calling it the 33rd County. It's a show discussing what it means to be Irish, and Irish-American, by virtue of putting one of each together and forcing them to experience the cultural products of both groups. In this inaugural episode, Shocks and cohost Thomas O'Mahony watch the Ben Affleck film THE TOWN and rejoice in its concentrated Boston-area dirtbag energy (exemplified by Jeremy Renner). Hope you enjoy!

Does anyone really take dropkick seriously after Mike left? They're essentially a cartoon now.

Dark subject matter, but "Spotlight" might be an interesting episode?

This is cool. Maybe an idea for the future is other Irish communities. Being Irish was a huge thing in Australia. And i know Irish people ended up all over America, not just in the US.

Tom saying "some meth tweaker from Bakersfield" is very fun

Weirdly, being half Puerto Rican has made me more culturally in line with the Irish from Ireland than Irish-Americans. Dropkick Murphys are kind of the perfect example of Irish-Americaness. A punk band that wrote a song about “good cops.”

Man, I Got Nothing

My grandma was Irish from Gardner. Married a French Canadian. My gramps mom was pissed he married Irish lol.

[Sickos yes YES.jpg] You have no idea how much this makes me happy as a transplant Masshole (wasn't born here but adapted to my new environment as an invasive species).
