No. You're right; it'd be too much work, and it'd actually subtract quality because it'd steal too much attention from the foreground. I intend to splatter a uniform color and call it a day.

However, are you going to ink and finish all those background characters? I'd advise not do it, that looks like something you might end up working forever on for no real reason
