The Case of Scott Peterson [Early Premiere]

Merry Christmas everyone! Personally, I think the last of the year is also the best. Whether or not you agree with that, I certainly hope you enjoy it!

I really appreciate your patience with me over the course of this year. Part of the increasing wait times has simply been me becoming more and more particular about dozens of little things. All the same, I’m going to work on different strategies to attempt to pick up the pace a little bit, and I also plan on brainstorming what sort of things I could possibly do to get more exclusives up here that you guys will like but don’t take a month plus to make. Don’t expect that stuff to kick in to gear right as 2023 hits, I don’t even have ideas yet! Just wanted you to know it is on my agenda :)

God yes. Everybody seems to be doing podcasts or reuploading audio only but the two where there is no alternative, lemmino and Matt, just don't.

I LOVED the video you made about the open-mic comedian turned murderer, and the Dennis Leary vid too. It would be cool if you could somehow do some more comedy-related content!

Andrew Sykes

I concur.

Rob

Do audio only content for Patreon exclusives? Cut production time massively that way. It would be nice to have you talk through some of the material that didn’t make the cut, and to get an insight behind your thinking on the case.

William Sheen

Really love your stuff! You have truly surpassed jcs, though they are still excellent! May I ask how goes the big project you were referencing earlier in the year?

Great episode!!!! Another ONE! 👑 fantastic! One random idea for a short future video could be on differences between 911 dispatchers. Some are empathetic and caring and the others are lliterally THE WORST cruelest humans alive. So sad. Btw I NEVER leave my shopping cart out anymore thanks to your Lazy Bones video featuring cart narcs. I walk that shit all the way back to the cart station 🤣🤣🤣

Samantha Bengtson

First this, then a new JCS?!? It’s a Festivus miracle!

YESwayTED 024

Love your videos. But when you said the 'two thousands' you really mean the aughts. Or, the noughties.

Sean Behrens

I’m surprised this connection hasn’t been made but I’m almost certain these events inspired the plot of the movie Gone Girl! Ben affleck also looks identical to scott!

Jackstraw

This is the top-quality true crime content I crave. Merry Christmas Matt, and thanks for another outstandingly well-researched, well-reasoned, and entertaining video!

Bex McKenna

This was great Matt! Many thanks to another banger!

JJ

Thank you Matt! I always get so stoked getting the email notification when you upload. And oh boy... Scott Peterson hits a nerve in me that is not often hit. ALL wife murderers are slimy, horrid monsters but Scott is definitely one of the slimiest. So glad he is rotting away in prison forever. Happy Holidays!

Liz Mason

Amazing work as always. Bravo. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Matt Orchard is to the true crime genre what Jonah Tali Lomu is to Rugby or Michael Jordan is to basketball. He didn’t invent the game, he just made it beautiful to watch. I’ve cried in the Holtzclaw video, laughed at Anthony Weiner, and been left confused wondering what happened to JBR. Merry Christmas, Matt! Thanks for the video, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Seth Smole

Yes!

Rob

Excellent, Matt - thank you. I’ve never doubted SP’s guilt, but rarely has the case been made in such a coherent, irrefutable way. Speaking for myself, the long gap between eps isn’t a concern. So much true crime stuff is cobbled together, repackaged “facts” from Wikipedia or murder.com so anything so significantly superior is always going to be worth the wait. Happy Christmas x

Thanks Shaunder! Don't get me wrong - maintaining quality is the top priority and sacrifices will not be made on that front for the sake of faster turn around or extras, and I will also not set goals that will induce an unsustainable level of stress. I just want to put some thought in to what sorts of things I could make that are smaller scale but supporters would enjoy. In terms of making the main event videos faster - well, I might be dreaming on that front, but it doesn't hurt to think about ways I could amend my process.

Matt Orchard

Thanks Kayleigh!

Matt Orchard

Finished all 23 videos on YouTube and I am sooo obsessed! Can’t get enough, thanks for some of the best content out there!

Kayleigh Moreno

Another great one. Best present yet!

Dustin

Qualidade! Thank you!

Augusto Ruback

As much as I like how open minded and balanced you are, I do enjoy when you can't hide your utter disgust for someone like Scott.

Kurt Narten

As someone who watched that "documentary" from Scott's supporters about how he was innocent, let me just say, THANK YOU for this video. I went into that doc wanting to learn about the case, and instead got half-baked conspiracies that boiled down to "a burglary was happening around that same time so, Scott's innocent" which was mind-boggling and preposterous to say the least.

Leyna Trotter

Nice finish to the year. Going into the video I was worried about this case being recently covered by another true crime channel, but the breadth, differing points of analysis, and narrative telling all help distinguish your retelling of the case. It's also a nice change of pace to see you go on the offensive against a suspect instead of the defensive. After last night's discussion on the Discord about your videos as compared to JCS/others, I think this video is the one that's really distinguished your content in my mind. Happy holidays, and here's to another year of stories to be told. (Also, on the note of faster video turnarounds, don't push yourself. I've seen too many others on Patreon and YouTube fall victim to the trap of obligation to produce content faster, leading to burnout and then guilt afterwards from not meeting heightened expectations)

Shaunder

You’re the only one who can carry the JCS torch. Your fans aren’t going anywhere.

Jason Pollock

It’s all good man, just happy someone is coming out with new stuff.

Angie Lynch

The attention to detail:thorough analysis and your unwavering desire for truth puts you far and above everyone else doing this. Appreciate you my g. Happy holidays.

Henry McGowan

Yey...Xmas treat!

Rakel

Merry Christmas, Matt! Please don’t feel pressure to put out more content. The fact that you essentially release a documentary for us every 1-2 months is absolutely incredible. Thank you for all the love and care you put into your work, it doesn’t go unnoticed!

Mary Elizabeth

Can’t wait! See you in the next year, Matt!
