Style Studies: Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon, Rumiko Takahashi & Milt Kahl
Added 2025-03-21 21:30:51 +0000 UTCFor today's study session I decided to put together some wheels to spin with $100+ patron characters and some of my childhood inspiration! The wheel came up with Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon, Rumiko Takahashi, and Milt Kahl. I had a blast studying how these different creators/studios construct characters, and then experimented a bit with taking the lessons myself.
I learned a lot about different ways to do shape and gesture, although I definitely felt like I was having a hard time truly capturing the essence of their works when translating it through others' characters. Luckily, that's what studying is for!
Overall, I'm really happy these came out!
