2024-07-16 07:06:30 +0000 UTCSorry to burst your bubble but this movie wasn't actually filmed in Sweden, it was filmed in Romania. It's sadly a common trope for "Swedish" movies that aren't produced by a Swedish film company

It is worth a read, the author somehow manages to make it even more brutal than the film but the film does tidy up some weird plot points. When you were asking about if there's more of a meaning to it, I think the whole situation is about masculinity and survivors guilt. Like, while Luke does learn to fight back, more importantly he learns that it's okay to survive.
