2022-01-22 21:39:54 +0000 UTCthanks, yeah there is a lot to tell when the base costume is the same, the way they are used and adjusted tells everything there is need to know. was at first thinking to give Mina her blue spot, pink spot bra like her Hero outfit, but she's shown to have very strong fashion sense. The bra also just adds to the flirtatiousness leaving something to hunt for. Ochako's no bra was more of a play on her not having much money, so her not wanting to spend money on a bra just made sence

2022-01-22 20:50:37 +0000 UTCIt's interesting to comment on stuff like this because, often, for alt-outfits it's often not about the new design elements in themselves as everything that could be said about Mina's 2.0 design could just be repeated (and I generally don't want to get into the habit/expectation of doubling back to comment on stuff that's already been done, save that for the future). What I can say though is that this definitely feels like a shift from Mina's previous depictions in 2.0. Various elements of her feel a bit bigger here and her horn's design has shifted in their positioning and their size compared to her previous 2.0 showings. A peak ahead to 3.0 maybe, as Uraraka's given precedence to that existing. Still, it's overall good as the 2.0 Mina design is. But again, alt-outfits aren't often about the new design elements, it's about expressing the already existing design through a new lens and how the character's character would shape it. I touched on some of that with Uraraka but it was mostly in physicality and her Quirk with her longer gloves and her more friendly, approachable persona. Here, I can compare her uniform and its design choices more closely to Mina's. The decision to keep a bra on Mina was interesting for two-fold reasons. The first is that you could technically argue that this aspect and Uraraka's no bra approach might've been switched, as Uraraka feels like the type who'd go for more modesty in her uniform than Mina. Secondly, and the one that I personally settle on, is as a matter of design the lace here fits with Mina's more flirtatious attitude. Uraraka's open jacket and no bra is technically lewder, sure, but it's kind of a simple openness that still covers her up that, again, can be related to her base approachable attitude. The lace here from Mina, and the way her jacket's arranged, gives a more overtly flirtatious and titillating feel to the ensemble, as sexy underwear often can. So it works well. The choice in a choker over a necktie also does that well, as well as the difference in shoes; Uraraka keeps the tie and keeps dressy-looking shoes/heels because she's just not trying to be as sexy, while Mina goes for the stuff that'll be more eye-catching and explicitly tempting. Difference in socks reflects their base characters (long socks for Mina, now stretched even longer up the leg, and stockings for Ochaco, though her legs are now too long/thicc at the thigh for any stockings to reach all the way up) and everything else is consistent between the two. Finally, Mina's more aggressive posture and actions with her hands also reflect the general difference in her playful, flirty/romantic demeanor than Ochaco's normal bubbly persona. All in all I'd say this was another successful alt-costume that integrated the character's personality/physical traits well. Apart from that, the difference in
