No problem, like I said, I've been doing commissions myself so I know what it's like to wrangle with this. As a quick aside to annonfan, I'd say that his final example also needs to include the voters because that's the crux of it; they vote for what they're enthusiastic for, and making these rules changes can only 'fix' the issue by either forcing them to vote for stuff they aren't enthusiastic for or to not vote at all, which is trouble. Artist to artist, if I could make a suggestion that'd let you draw more new stuff, more stuff you might want to draw while still respecting the people paying you money in this, it'd be to make more time for yourself in that regard. I have stuff I have to write every month in order to meet obligations, but I also try to not take so much on board that I don't end up with time to just write whatever I want. When you do go back to commissions, take fewer commissions than you might've in previous months and use the extra time on just drawing whatever you want. Hell, at that point, you could even raid the suggestion box for stuff with low votes and draw that if you'd want.

Those are also all valid points, thank you for your insight.

It’s more a precaution of keeping the same character from winning every month. But I see your point. Still annon also sees it as a problem so perhaps he can just politely ask for suggestions that have not won in the past. Ultimately it’s up to him and the suggesters

I'd honestly caution against something like this. It's one thing to put restrictions on who and what you can vote for in a broad poll that takes advantage of the whole community of people. If this was just a poll open to literally everybody then you could put as many rules or stipulations in it as you like and a lot of people wouldn't have a problem. That is not what this is. This is people paying 18 dollars for the privilege of nominating characters they'd potentially want to see to be drawn. It's essentially a soft-form of commissioning, although one that still rides on the whims of other voters, but that's simply something one has to allow for in exchange for community participation. Punishing people who might want to see certain stuff drawn because it's consistently popular isn't going to make newer or less popular options more appealing to people, it's just going to be another weight on top of the initial tier cost in the cost-benefit analysis. Secondly, it's not like you limit the number of votes people can throw out in these. People can vote for any of the options that they're interested in or, Hell, all of them. Putting an artificial limit on what people can nominate or vote for might get options with less votes currently to win, but it won't get them more votes because people are already not voting for them even though they have the option. So you'd just be punishing popular options, options people want to see and are therefore voting for them, for the sake of potentially lowering the winning-vote threshold for options that people can already vote for but don't. As someone who's been going through commissions himself and trying to wrangle how it should be handled, putting this kind of onus on popular options for being popular seems more destined to depress overall interest in this poll rather than to fix a perceived problem.

No will have to agree that it is starting to become an issue. Am not quite sure how to tackle it though, a lot of policing would have to take place if a previous character drawn is to take place. Maybe something like, characters who won a poll can not be resuggested the next month or during the same year.

Annon

First of all I want to say that all the options on the poll are awesome. Second I want to say that the following is just my two cents. Their has been a lot of repeat suggestions on the poll. And when I say that I mean characters from series like rwby, one piece, my hero acadamia that already have pictures. Now I have nothing against characters getting more pics. But I feel that by suggesting the same characters in the poll each month (example Yang from rwby) we lose out of seeing new characters from different series because everyone will just vote for the popular girl from the popular series. I would suggest that poll suggestions not be girls that already have pics so we can get more variety. Also so we can keep from having the same girls over and over. Of course the final decision goes to annon and he has free range to completely ignore this.
