hi everyone, i hope you're all doing ok 🙇🏻‍♀️

dropping by to attach the link for this weeks video- the captions are still processing (despite trying to wait them out for three hours 🥲) but should hopefully be with you soon. i imagine they're taking a little longer this time because the bulk of the video is talking 💭

i hope you enjoy it- i ended up a little stuck this week as we had so little sunlight, but i hope the peek into some of my older notebooks will help make up for it. really putting those of you who prefer the longer videos to the test with this one, i think 😅 hopefully next week will work out a bit better.

apart from that, i just have some little bits from today- an illustration and a little cake for the canonical birthday of sherlock holmes.

take care and speak soon, friends x

Hi, how do you keep things secured in your books like that metro card from New York for example? Also generally what do you use to keep movie tickets and things in?

alex carlew

the last little bit made me emotional! I really needed to hear that, thank you! 💌

The way that I got so hype when I saw it was /40/ minutes long, I don't know if I ever have said this before but I adore these videos. They're a companion to me at work a lot of the time. Yesterday I was overstimulated following a shower so I sat and watched them until my brain calmed back down. So, in short, thank you. Sending much love to you and Wednesday from a very cold Iowa <3

i needed to hear that last bit <3 thank you for sharing your work with us

This video really spoke to me; thank you so much for sharing. That last part was particularly beautiful and poignant. Very wise words! I was wondering if you could speak to the meaning behind the little houses in your notebooks? I believe I've seen them in your more recent ones as well!

i was *rapt* for this, so lovely to watch :') and makes me want to make a video about all my journals too, i think i must have almost 20 on my shelf of daily planner usage since 2017 (?)! <3 Love the end section too, truly cringe culture is dead we love with our whole hearts now 😤

this made me emotional because I was an ~og~ YouTube viewer and remember you videos and notebooks so vividly. wild looking back to how different I felt then and how your videos helped me cope with *a lot* so thank you from past and present me 🫶🏻

Not gonna lie, I got teary-eyed at the end of the video. What an absolute treat, this video was thank you so much for sharing your journals with us. I would love to see more specially your uni journals. I have never seen them since I just found you a few months ago.

So excited for a longer video!!! Thank you so much for creating these inspiring and chill videos.

The last section of the video really caught me off guard. Was special to see someone validate how I’ve felt in the past and how I feel about the future. Thank you for the comfort today - especially when simply existing feels like hard work. ❤️‍🩹💌🦊

Your journals during uni is how I found you when I first started bullet journaling, and I am so glad you were able to find them. I definitely switched to using boxes for tasks because of your way of filling them halfway and such. Thank you for sharing with us 💜

Which thickness of the Frixton pen do you use? I have the 0.5 but I find it quite grey rather than black? 🙂

oh lord i forgot today was jan 6th (i too wanted to celebrate) and i literally just remembered when seeing this video. i wanted to thank you for (through your videos and the sherlock stickers i am so buying when your shop reopens) dragging me into the sherlock holmes fandom. it's now my strongest special interest by far and i'm rapidly working my way through the various iterations of his character (and my ao3 bookmarks are steadily filling up...). thank you for that short drawing segment at the end, you bet that's gonna become a clip i go back to watch whenever i need some comfort. i'm certain that i'm not the only one that would welcome a clip of you talking about your special interest in a voiceover at some point, if you're comfortable with it. thank you for this lovely video and i wish you a pleasant weekend! (oh and about the su*cidal 13 yo thing, what a mood, percy jackson saved itty bitty 13 yo autistic me)

So very excited to give this a watch! I love the longer videos and rewatch them often when I’m journaling. Thanks 💕

Loved this one!! I remember seeing a lot of those older journals! As for romanticising the mundane and doing what you love, watching your channel has actually got me back into reading again after a long time, I missed escaping into a book. Thank you for all your amazing illustrations and giving us inspirations 🤍

Ashleigh

I really really enjoyed what you said on the last bit of the video.

This is a great video, thanks so much for sharing it with us! And a blast from the past, I definitely remember seeing these notebooks on insta, and I followed you on YouTube when you first started posting videos! You got me hooked on Rhodia notebooks for a while! It's nice to see your old systems - I do stuff with little boxes in my notebooks which I probably picked up from you. Couple of little things 1. It made me LOL so much that you had "watch dirk gently" on a to-do list, because: mood. 2. I have your "commonplace" zine, it's really nice to look at! It's very cosy and I like how you celebrate the little things. It says "Vol. 1" on the cover but idk if there was a volume too. 3. It's probably because of YOU that I have fortune-telling fish in my desk drawer? LOL. 4. The Manic Street Preachers supported Bon Jovi??? omg. 5. I love your Sherlock segment at the end. When I was 13, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was still airing, and it totally saved me from suicide, so I really relate to that. I should start a Buffy cake tradition.

oh god when i saw that notebook from your uni days i had major flashbacks :o i remember following you on insta and then started watching your youtube and i've always loved notebooks but my adhd makes it so hard for me to decide what i want to do with them and when i saw your system i just ran with it, i think i even messaged you on insta asking if its ok if i used your system :D and then last year i discovered hobonichi again bc of you and for the first time i feel like its kinda working :) i do things a lot like you but just bc i always need a starting point and i loved how clean yours looked. You're my all time comfort creator :)

Lena

oh the captions just appeared! lovely timing 😌 enjoy, friends x
