Quick Announcement Regarding Upcoming Patreon Sales Tax
Added 2020-05-08 00:39:15 +0000 UTCWe’ve got something unpleasant but unavoidable to talk about. As some of you may have heard, Patreon is being required to add sales tax to pledges in some states.

There’s unfortunately not much that can be done, but if you are in a state that now requires the tax, you may see a small increase in the pledge charge when the change rolls out. The silver lining is that some states are exempt at the moment. This should also have no effect on patrons from other countries since those are handled through their respective VAT system instead.
We’re waiting on our end to see what happens since they will supposedly be rolling out some tools for us. Doku and I will do everything we can to make sure our tiers aren’t accidentally charging a tax when they shouldn’t be.
