Charge Upfront now Available to all Creators!

Good news everyone! Totally didn’t want to say that just to make you picture Farnsworth’s voice. Patreon has granted all creators the charge upfront feature! At long last, we can stop using Gumroad for middle of the month build downloads and simply host them on here. From day 1 we had been struggling with an efficient distribution method. What this change does is basically make it so that as soon as a pledge is created, the card is charged for the amount. 

The original method only charged cards on the 1st of each month. This meant that people could pledge, take content and then delete the pledge without ever giving the creator a cent. Some would even pledge with fake cards and be on their way.

So what does this mean for current Patrons? Nothing, unless you pledged between June 1st and now but I’ll get to that in a minute.

Current Patrons will continue to have pledges processed on the first, whereas new Patrons will be charged the moment that a pledge is made and then again when a new month begins and new rewards are distributed.

Here’s what’s changing on our end of the distribution method.

• Game builds and Art Packages will no longer be emailed on the 1st of each month and will instead be posted as a Patron only post on here, where you’ll be free to download them at your leisure.
• Art Packages will be cycled out according to which month they were created in. We will begin by posting the May Art Package later on today. When the month ends and June’s package comes out, the May package will be moved to Gumroad for those that wish to purchase past months works.

For those that pledged between June 1st and June 16th.

The build will be posted and available going forward despite cards not being processed yet. If you downloaded the build through Gumroad during this month, please message us which email you used so that we can get you an art package from a previous month as a token of thanks. This pledge upfront feature really took us by surprise and we did not expect it in the middle of the month. So we would at least like to make it up to you with something.
