Freytreon in 2025 + earlier changes and updates!

Hey gang! Wanted to update you all a bit on my plans for the future of this platform, and how things are going to change quite a bit going into next year. ✨

First & foremost: I am going to start job hunting. Art as a full-time thing just isn't feasible for me and I can't make a living wage this way. And that's fine! I had no such hopes anyway. That means that in a couple months, I won't have nearly as much time for art anymore as I do now.

That's why I've started cutting down on some of the benefits of the Freytreon, and plan to refocus to give me more time to draw stuff I am personally passionate about, like my OCs and fanart, rather than what generates income! Commissions will still happen just as sporadically and unscheduled as they do currently though, and Patrons will still get priority there.

Anyway, here's the major upcoming changes:

🥕 Removal of the Mythic Carrot/YCH tier (again)

This one hurts a bit, cause it's a major chunk of my Patreon income, but also it just takes me too much time each month. Doing YCHs also isn't very creatively fulfilling cause it's a very samey process. Patrons within the Mythic Carrot tier have already been notified of this a while ago-

I will be bringing the Mythic Carrot tier back in a different way eventually, but likely not with extra benefits, it'll just be like an extra pricey tier for generous people who want to go above and beyond with their support. Perhaps with an exclusive commission after half a year of being subbed to it or something. Not sure yet!

🥕 Closing of the OC Request Box

This one also feels pretty bad. I really like drawing all your characters but it's taking up a lot of time and taking focus away from the things I'd like to be doing most. Once again, a big part of this restructure is because I'll be getting a job, which means that with less time and a more stable income, I wanna focus on stuff that I myself really really want to make rather than the stuff that makes me the most money.

The final OC Request Box opening will be next month, so in November. If the only reason you are subscribed to the Exquisite Carrot tier is the OC Request Box, then please make sure you unsubscribe or change to a different tier after you are charged for November! I do plan on bringing this benefit back eventually, if I ever manage to increase my working speed, haha, so don't count on it anytime soon.

This does NOT mean that the Exquisite Carrot tier will be removed. The other benefits stay, with one of them becoming more prevalent again as it has in previous years:

🥕 The return of patron poll suggestions!

As longtime supporters (thank you 💖) know, the main benefit of the €7/Exquisite Carrot tier before was getting to suggest content for polls. This will return! Part of my refocusing is that I'd like to do more OC and fanart stuff (this includes NSFW🔞), and while I have MANY IDEAS I also have many blind spots and I'm bad at choosing. That's why the fanart & OC poll suggestion posts & discord channel will be making a comeback where you all get to share your ideas and suggestions for what you'd like to see me work on~

🥕 CONVENTIONS!!!

My first artist alley was AMAZING, and so, so much fun! I am locking in on getting to participate in more of them, which means I'll also want to make more merch. Merch polls are therefore staying! I don't really have much else to add here, I just want to do more artist alleys BADLY.

Aaaand that's it for the major changes! I understand it's not the most exciting update because a lot of these mean less rewards for you, the patrons, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from. I also completely understand if this means supporting this page is no longer worth the money for you, so please do not feel guilty about changing tiers or unsubscribing! Most of these changes will happen after November, so if you want to make a change in your pledge or cancel it, make sure to do it after you're charged for that month! I will also change the tier descriptions at that time.

- edit: As usual, December will be a bit of a break month for me since I never really end up taking a break at any other time, but I'll still be doing an OC and fanart piece that month!

-- edit #2: I have been doing much better health-wise! The constant dizziness and lightheadedness has been slowly but surely lessening, and after a long wait and a visit to a proper neurologist it appears that what I've been suffering from is PPPD, a kind of chronic, longterm recalibration of the balance center that takes a good while to sort itself out. Things have been way better recently though, and I'm getting an MRI scan in a month just to make doubly sure everything's good!
