Early Access: How We Can Make Streets Safer NOW (But Don't)

This video has been on my mind recently, as cities and planners have begun to reflect on "Vision Zero" efforts to eliminate road deaths in the United States. Many cities have not lived up to their goals. Most, really. When faced with big societal challenges, we often look for easy technological solutions. In this case, they exist, but we don't want to use them.

Anyway, I hope you like this video! I'm going to try and get out a Patreon end-of-year thank you video before January. If I don't, thanks for all of your support!

haha, i just got back from running some errands and drove past one of those "check your speed" radars that read "188 INIT" (i was doing 50) and thought gees those things are useless, what are they even trying to achieve? :D

In Chicago some alders tried to up the speed cam limit from 6 to 11 mph over in school/park zones this fall. Their argument “no one has died on these roads and upping the speed doesn’t mean people will drive faster”
