Who is Charlie?!?

He appears out of nowhere, presumably a friend of Benjamin, which implies he's a friend of Anthony/Richard and Elizabeth.
EDIT: Wait, who is Johannson?!?! (I honestly don't know who's making me madder, Charlie or Johannson.)
EDIT: Maiden Roshauna (the "shaun" syllable looms VERY VERY large in this book) is my final plea that we all throw the book across the room in frustration. Thank you.
