372 Pages Ep 74 - Chapters! We Got Yer Chapters!
Added 2020-05-01 17:51:25 +0000 UTCVictor Hugo just texted Dan Brown, "Dude, back it down on the chapters, man! It's not a contest." Tolstoy throws in a, "Yeah, cut it out, man."
Yes, the sparse words continue to spill out on the increasing number of pages of Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" so Conor and Mike can only counter it with more of their words.
All the departments are here: Mike makes an attempt at Real or Fanfic. Conor combed the Dark Web and found something other than a rig. Jabba pounds a few damp calzones.
And folks, I can't keep the news from you anymore -- I'm sorry... Two-Tone is dead.
I'll hold a respectful silence while you insert your own Darth Vader-esque "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"'s....
NEXT ASSIGNMENT: Read chapters 61 through 80!! (Double exclamation points intentional).
EDIT: Here's the Gary Gulman standup we referenced https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLECCmKnrys

Mike wondered what a bulbous forehead would look like in this episode: Google Tammy Slaton before her weight loss for an example

2020-05-05 01:59:01 +0000 UTCI had intended to pass on the read-along portion of this book, but found myself driving cross-country with my 6 year old son for the last several days so sprung for the audiobook. But what is my equivalent of throwing the book across the room when DB metes out drama sooooo slowly? Drive off the road? That doesn’t seem fair. Also, hoping for a meme contest for this one.

2020-05-04 04:06:32 +0000 UTCAnd Christopher Nolan!!!! I love this episode!

2020-05-03 07:47:19 +0000 UTCAlso, I cannot explain how excited I am that other people think of Vertigo when they hear the name Midge.

2020-05-02 14:31:18 +0000 UTCHa! I thought of both Vertigo and Gary Gulman when Midge was introduced. BTW, Gulman's sassy secretary is named Dottie.

2020-05-02 01:00:14 +0000 UTCJust for the record, I was NOT joking about the "tumble to" and "Ogden". Obviously the former is part of Goulart's writing style, but the latter is just--IDK, Ogden was just a popular name in the '40s. At least relatively.

2020-05-02 00:55:12 +0000 UTCI fooled Mike! woooooo! Also, no one seemed to note that the submission contained the words "white worm" and now I'm not sure what to think about anything.

2020-05-01 20:57:34 +0000 UTCSo you’re saying he arbitrarily split the book into 128 chapters? Oh brother 🙄
Taylor Conner
2020-05-01 20:46:55 +0000 UTC128 is the number of values you can represent with 7 bits. It's "significant" in the computer world because an single-byte integers use the 8th bit to indicate positive or negative. So it can store a value from -127 to 128. And now you've done as much research as Dan Brown did.

2020-05-01 20:42:09 +0000 UTCDon't feel bad, Mike. I've read the book and I still missed one of the real or fanfics.
