Ah, the classic fight or flight dilemma. I imagine if a scenario like this happened years ago, Alex wouldn’t hesitate to stay put and help these people who are in danger. But now, all the other gods, aside from Luna and himself, are dead, Gloria possibly sharing a similar fate and he now he has a kid he clearly doesn’t want to risk losing, on top of his current feelings that the chaos is unbeatable at that, so he chooses today to run for it instead. Pretty telling of how much things have changed for him, I dare say. Here’s the thing, Alex and Nigel aren’t wrong in saying that it would be suicidal to take on a potentially massive horde, and yes that would be the smart thing to do, but you also have to ask yourself, “Is that the right thing to do here?” Plus, you gotta consider the risks involved here. If the Knights decide to leave now, sure they’ll survive to continue the mission and fight another day, but that will come at the cost of the people of this village getting slaughtered, not to mention, also coming at the cost of the team losing their shortcut to the Lukaras if the mayor were to be killed as well. It most certainly wouldn’t be good for their reputation moving forward either. On the other side of the coin however, if the Knights were to stay, they put their own lives in danger of being killed or infected by the chaos, but even if they can’t fight all the chaos beasts off or save everyone, they may still be able to buy enough time for those they were able to save to evacuate the village and get someplace safe. Plus, for all we know, this could be the one chance the team has to prove to the mayor that they are indeed the Knights of Life and get that ticket to that shortcut to the Lukaras that they came here for, if they’re able to save him. Honestly, I think it’s already pretty clear which side of that coin has the majority vote, but ultimately the decision to stay and fight or leave immediately and fight another day will have to be left to Mira as the leader of the team, though if I were her, I would consider what Tristan is saying here. I too believe that, despite the obvious risks, if Luna were with the Knights right now, she would want them to stay put and help these people in their time of need, because at the end of the day that’s what it means to be the Knights of Life, to be willing to put your lives on the line for the sake of helping and protecting others from those that would harm them. It may not always be the smart thing to do, but it’s definitely the right thing to do, and I think it may be about that time the team finally starts to realize that. Good on Tristan for being the one to tell the team that, btw. He may be scared to fight and probably can’t fight well in general, but he clearly has a good heart and wants to do the right thing here and for the team to do the same. It may not look like it, but that one gesture is true bravery right there. He still has a long way to go, I imagine, but it’s a start. Also, he may not be able to fight, but maybe Tristan, along with Chili and Nigel could help supply an escape route for the villagers while the others hold off the chaos horde, assuming Mira chooses to have the team stay and fight.

Tigers Claw

I think Tristan is right. She would want them to protect the people.
