Would you believe me if I said the manically productive part of production is still going? Dumping endless 1000s of words and images and now sounds into the bottomless pit will, eventually, fill it up. Almost there, but by the Emperor, it has been a torturous process. Dev builds are rolling out, final pieces falling in place. About time.
The final dragon to slay right now is largely audio - all the fiddly little 'unique' sounds that a Main Story Arc gets, think the later Soupline requests with all their roars and running and melter reports. And music fading in to each to match the emotional beats, and cool new walking sounds, and... time-consuming stuff, but worth it.
That said, yet another couple deadlines slip, and I'm sorry. My job life-drains me, creative tangents keep murdering my estimates, yadda yadda, excuses. I will get the complete Beta into the hands of patrons in 1-2 weeks, and the full public release before the end of October. Line in the sand, and better build a dike to keep the waves from washing it away.
v0.3's setting the canvas for all the stories to follow, and the content/scope will be roughly the same as the v0.1 and v0.2 releases. Saying that is a bit of a cover-up for how Sisyphean this dev cycle's felt. Gun to my head percentage estimate like a 'normal' VN: 90% done.
My thoughts in short as September ends: Nearly there, goddammit.
Thank you all for your playtime, patronage, and (especially) patience! Seeing the patreon numbers somehow holding steady over the summer is a shot in the arm every time I sit down to hack away at this some more. Thank you. And once v0.3's out, I'll get the marketing machine going like never before and we'll see how it goes...
