How did I miss this one when it posted? The squishy thing that slaps Faputa right as Belaf appears is a squid-like thing Nanachi caught with the fishing pole. Since Belaf has no eyes he needed to be able to find Faputa by scent, hence the squid slap. "This is a lot." Yes, yes it is. The last few scenes where Faputa is thinking on what she doesn't know and her value, pays off brilliantly in a quote at the end of next season. My favorite quote from the show. More thoughts when I have some time to watch the full discussion tomorrow!
