They have taken a great manga and actually improved on it. The suspense is killing me. That Land reveal is so good! I bet he was sipping some good tea. "Don't worry Himmel, the world has changed." I love this moment. The world has likely changed but not as much as Frieren has. This journey and the people she has spent time with, with the intention of understanding them, is the real change. Lernen, no comment ;) Serie not being able to connect with her students due to their humanity, and her lack of emotion, juxtaposed with Frieren's journey. She is not in tune with her feelings and that is why we are all here, to see an elf establish that element of connection. Frieren's ability to walk away from both Serie and her her student speaks volumes. Best elf girl would rather touch individual lives today than leave a mark on the pages of history. Such a great ending to the season. This show captures the feelings of longings of the manga perfectly while amplifying the action so well. My favorite adaptation was the dancing scene with Fern and Stark. Its literally a single panel that they turned into a fully hand-drawn masterpiece of character development and art. I want to say read the manga, but I also want the content!
