Midweek Update 1/22

I'm trying to get in the habit of posting here more frequently, regardless of whether I have anything important to announce. (Brief bit of oversharing: I was having extreme problems with my anxiety---to the point of borderline agoraphobia---when I started the Patreon and my brain decided Patreon also made it anxious. So basically I'm giving myself exposure therapy.)

I've more or less finished outlining a portion of chapter 7. I'm going to write what I have of the outline and as long as the chapter isn't absurdly long I'll probably add to it. I tried to start it today, but I rewrote the first paragraph about fifteen times before deciding I wasn't in the right head space.

Good news, I have at least three shorts written right now. I wanted to build a bigger backlog in this sort of in between period as chapter 6 is coming out, but I'll probably post the first of them on Saturday or Sunday. We'll see.

As for longer term plans, I started this with the vague inkling that it was going to occur across multiple books and that's a definitive thing now. I don't have any estimation of how many chapters there are left, but we're probably at a half way point. I don't want the story to be short, but I also don't want to drag it out just for the sake of making it longer.

I'll probably spend at least half this time trying to figure out the best way to connect the books. I don't know if Twine has a function that allows you to carry saves over to new game. It might have to be something like "congrats on starting book 2, please answer these exam questions". IDK. I'll do some research and sort it out. If you have any personal knowledge on the subject, let me know.
