morgue has been redesigned

hello! two posts in one day?? what??

well it's kind of just still one post, because i already posted this on mastodon. but not many people use mastodon! i didn't upload it here first because it's the first thing i've drawn in like almost two months and i'm kind of excited ahaha TωT

i haven't drawn in so long, yeesh. this turned out a little wonky tbh. she was even wonkier but i did a second pass and redid her face and ended up being a bit happier with it

anyway, morgue is an old-ish character probably 3 people know about. i think this is the only time i've posted her, and that was a while ago and on a sideblog

i was never into her design. that old design sucked! boo! she used to be a rabbit, and now she's a goat (because of the occult connection)

her new design is kind of an amalgamation of a few things -- black fingers from the neverhood, one inverted eye from scud (and the neverhood too, i guess) and black striped legs à la beetlejuice. i've been wanting to do an asymmetrical character like this for a while

and of course she has to have a huge butt that's always just like, out. that's kind of My Thing at this point

anyway, she's a necromancer. she's from like the middle ages and just hangs out with her undead minions in a dungeon or a cave or whatever, so she's pretty sheltered from the modern world. i don't think she's seen a video game ever

she doesn't Talke Olde English or anything because i don't want to have to remember if i'm supposed to use -eth or -est or remember how to use that quirk where you'd use "dost" before a verb, like "thou dost ____" (if anyone wants to explain that last one i'd be grateful because idk what to even search for)

and also she's familiar with modern english because she gets her minions to go out and bring her stuff like mycology books, newspapers, and djarum blacks

she's kind of disdainful of mortals (she mostly doesn't get them) and honestly not great at necromancy -- her minions kind of suck and sometimes disobey her

plus she probably kind of smells from being around corpses all the time and has to be reminded to bathe. embarrassing!

i've been wanting more villain characters and i think morgue makes an okay villain. i like undeads a lot. her theme song is either one hundred years by the cure or dead man's party by oingo boingo 

leaning towards the oingo boingo option now tbh. my original thought was the cure one but i think i like the oingo boingo vibes more
