Sorcerer Neutral-ish Option
Added 2018-12-05 06:34:24 +0000 UTCThe somewhat-asked-for option to play without your needs being replaced is now available. To go this route, pick the new ritual available Ritual of Neutrality. This option will add Magical Connection and Alignment, but they'll be pushed down out of view and locked in place (Magical Connection locked at full and Alignment locked at a neutral, middle level, something like 0). You will still be able to pursue the Dark and Light skills, just without any managing of the Magical Connection Need or impact from alignment going light or dark. You won't be able to do the alignment lock rituals if you go this route, for obvious reasons.
Along with this, neutral level alignment has been given its own vfx effect for superspeed.
And, having done some additional fiddling, you can now do the also-somewhat-asked-for option of being a Vampire who is also a Sorcerer, if you pick the Ritual of Neutrality.
However, be careful what order you do it in. Make sure if you go the Ritual of Neutrality route that you become a Vampire (or PlantSim if you want to do that one) *before* you do the Ritual of Neutrality. Or remove everything at the lump of clay first, so you can do it in the proper order. Otherwise, you may see some weird, undefined behavior with the sorting of the Needs in the UI.
So in summary, you have the option of basically ignoring all that alignment, good/bad mumbo jumbo and play with all of your normal needs (or abnormal needs if you are a supernatural sim).
The abilities are all the same. There isn't anything new in that regard, though we will see if I find the time to look at more neutral-ish abilities at some point, like I've wanted to at various times in the past.

Thanks for the report. Are you targeting a sim other than yourself who is Young Adult or older? It should show up for that. The other qualifiers to check for would be (reading from the file): The target is not the Grim Reaper, not already pregnant, Alignment is at full (100), the household of the sorcerer is not already full, and magical connection is not at -90 or lower. Also, I should probably note that if you have MC Command Center installed, there may be some issues with getting create life to induce pregnancy as expected. It's on my list of things fix, but it's kind of a mystery problem as I have to figure out how to get around the changes that MC Command Center does to pregnancy. Workaround for that would be to temporarily remove MC Pregnancy and MC Woohoo (probably good to make sure config is backed up first) and then reinstall it once your sim is pregnant and has started the first trimester. Granted, you may not even use MC Command Center, but I thought I'd mention it in case you run into the problem. :)
2018-12-10 03:52:37 +0000 UTCHello! Sorry to bother you, but I would like to report a bug I've noticed using the latest update of your mod. I made my sim a sorcerer some time ago, and finally reached level ten of the light alignment. Naturally, I went to commit to the alignment and chose the 'Creation' option. The interaction to chose that alignment and the animations for it worked perfectly- as did the hover animations (ignoring the footstep sounds) and the glowing chest-light animation. However, no matter what I do, the option to use the 'create life' spell will not show up in the pie menu. I uninstalled the November update of the mod and re-installed the newer version of the mod in the hopes that might fix it, but I immediately experienced the same issue upon returning to the game. Everything else works without a hitch, so I have absolutely no idea what it could be conflicting with, or why in the world something so specific seems to be failing.
