Aaaand a chat?

Okay, I'm going to do a kind of nice, fireside chat type thing next week, either Wednesday or Thursday, at noon or 1 PM CST (+5 UTC) I will record this, and post it up here. There'll probably be different versions for different tiers, 'cause that seems like less work (🤦‍♀️). If you'd like to come chat with me (about almost anything, honestly) let me know which time works best for you, and I'll do it! If you just want me to answer some niggling question, drop it below, and I'll add it to the list!

I'll give you quick answers now, but add these to the list and go more in depth later 😊 I don't know. I have some glimmers of an idea, but it's not 'real' enough yet to say a book will come of it. Often, I read something else, then think, "But what if it happened this way?" Every author has a voice, and given the same prompt, every one will write something different, so I don't strain myself trying to come up with something original. I take what I know and love, and make it my own. I love Terry Pratchett, especially his Discworld series. If I could choose my inspiration, that's who I would say, but I've also been influenced by Lois McMaster Bujold and her Vorkosigan books, Wen Spencer, especially her book 'A Brother's Price', (you'll see the foundations of Broken Knife in there) even Mercedes Lackey before she got weird. Douglas Adams, for sure, I used to read the Hitchhiker's Guide collection every night before bed. And Gordon R. Dickson's Dorsai books are definitely in there. I also read a ton of Westerns, so sometimes you'll see a cowboy hero turn up (Hi, Raff).

Will you write any new stories in the broken knife world? How do you find ideas for your stories? Are there any authors that you feel have inspired your writing?
