Remodeling and Discord

All righty, folks! The time is coming for the official switchover to Lucky Rabbit on Royal Road. Tier names have been updated, and Nature (Tier 2, which is most of you) is now USD$5/month. That should not  affect anyone who is already a member, so if something wonky happens, please let me know immediately!

Once again, I'm trying to figure out what would make that $10 tier more interesting. That's where the digital books live, as well as images and my weekend project (which is on hold while I do edits on Broken Knife).

Would anyone like a Q&A online somewhere? I have a Discord now, but it's, y'know, empty, and I have no idea what to do with it that I don't do here. I could log on and do a voice chat? I can post an invite to it, but I don't have anything set up πŸ˜‚

Hmmm...would you like more off-topic posts? What games or books I'm playing/reading maybe?

Like, I assume you guys don't want to know about my kiddo's karate belt level (green) or that I'm a Local Guide on Google. I know, Google, but I like reviewing stuff. I do not, however, review books, because it feels like tearing out a kidney. (Not that I've ever torn out a kidney, but I have had both my appendix and my gallbladder removed, and I assume it's like that, but without medication.)

Should I try to do the Discord thing, and set up an hour or so a week to hang out on there? I spent literal years on IRC (iykyk) but Discord just hasn't grabbed me, but I will do it if you really want me to! Here's the server, if you want to go see how much it echoes. https://discord.gg/BuSs6JQ5

In theory, I can give you guys access to the Patreon channel, and cool flair and stuff, but I don't know how. Yet.

Augh! I don't know!!!

But here's a picture of flying Pandy.

I think the trick is getting enough people over to the Discord to start that cycle πŸ˜‚ That was how it worked on IRC, too, though. It was the quintessential "where everybody knows your name". I'm really a terribly boring person, so I don't have that much to contribute πŸ˜‚

I mean, Q&A's are always interesting, but a Discord, unless for a specific purpose, becomes a self-sustaining cycle. If enough users are there that they play off each other it forms the basis for a community. For off-topic, I think that's like Candy. It's nice to have occasionally, but it lacks substance if done too much. Although, it does give a feeling of connection with an author and might encourage readers to share bits of their own life, which is good foundation for a community forming. And the winged Pandy looks as cool as a winged rabbit can be.
