What do you think?

I'm a good chunk of the way into The Broken Knife now (a book will be about 50 chapters) and since I'm not posting it on RoyalRoad, I need to know...

Is it good? Is it okay? Should I ditch it and do something else? Do you want to find out what happens with Kaz and Li? Would you, in fact, pay to read it and then feel that it was a good investment? (After it's edited, of course. First books in a series are always rougher.) Is it TOO rough, and you just don't really care?

Be honest (but not brutal) because I really don't want to put in two-four more books of a series that won't go anywhere. I felt really connected to Zoey and Aspen, but I feel like Kaz hasn't come into his own yet.

So, what do you think?

I'm loving this story so far, so I'd like to see more. I will say that reading on RR is a ton nicer than patreon (not your fault, just that patreon's "stream of posts" style is less well designed for ebooks), and the audience there would probably enjoy this book, so I support posting on RR too, for what that's worth. Totally up to you, of course, and I also support your quest to get published by a traditional publisher. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!

I asked in an author group I'm part of, and they're strongly urging me to go with posting on RoyalRoad. Shockingly, agents don't like books in niche genres, with non-human main characters. 😅
