What I've been up to

I didn't want to make a big deal out of this because it really isn't and I'm doing fine. But I caught covid last week. A good friend came over to visit, we spent a few days here in my city and then travelled to Prague, because it was also my birthday and we wanted to do something nice. We had such a nice time, great weather, good food, but on our last day, when we were about to head back, I started getting a headache and sore throat. I went to get tested once I got home, and the test came back positive.
I spent a couple of days in bed reading books and resting, and I already feel pretty good today. But there are a few more days of quarantine left. So yeah, that's what I've been up to.
If you're curious, here's what I've been reading, plus some thoughts:
Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 - It's the story of a young woman growing up in South Korea and the small moments of discrimination in everyday life, and how they pile up over time. Reading it made me genuinely angry at times, but in a good way where I really felt for the character. I loved it.
Normal People by Sally Rooney - The book is hugely popular, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. And it's set in Dublin, where I loved for almost a year, so that got me interested. Well, I enjoyed it at the start and I like the writing, but at about 1/3 of the book, I got tired of the characters and their bullshit. Also, the author seems to romanticise mental illness and losing weight in the process. I did not like this book.
Shoko's Smile by Choi Eunyoung - I'm not finished with this short story collection, but I already loved the first one, and the way it dealt with family and loss, and much more.
