Gameboy - Work in Progress
Added 2019-05-07 21:08:40 +0000 UTCAnother big detailed illustration is on the way! I just can‘t keep it simple anymore. But I really love telling small stories in my artwork and I don’t know how I ever worked any other way.
Whenever I sit down and just draw a random face, I get bored and I ask myself what the point is. And I have so many more scenes in mind that I want to paint! I hope I won’t run out of ideas, fingers crossed.
Anyway, this one is an homage to my obsession with playing Pokémon on my Gameboy. I had the red edition and started out with Charmander. It was so much fun!!

I like to start with a simple sentence that tells the story: “boy is playing Gameboy in front of an ice cream shop”. The. i go out and look for reference that supports that and build the scene that way. :)
