I just finished the sketch for the fifth card in the Wands suit. I'm one day behind, so I should finish it on Sunday.
About the card: The key words here are disagreement, competition and hassles. In the Rider Waite deck, the illustration shows children playfully fighting each other. I was debating whether I should take a similar approach but instead decided to go a different way.
My interpretation comes from the following thought process: When I'm at odds with others or arguing about something, it wears me out easily. I have a hard time focusing on anything else and it seems like the issue is taking over my life. Until I have resolved the disagreement, I feel limited and cornered. That's why I drew the wands/branches in a way that resembles a cage or just something that blocks the character from moving away.
I hope this makes sense.
Thank you for making these illustrations possible! :]
