Pin of the Month - exclusive?

Fursona Pins

Switched to the $15 pledge. This was a great idea and a great upgrade option! I'm so glad you guys got as popular as you did as quickly as you did! Great job! I'm so excited to see what exclusive pins you come up with :3

From what I understand, the current $25 tier is three of the same PotM fursona pins? Would it be viable for you guys to offer a tier where you get two pins, one of each (specialty+sona), for a different amount?

I think that would be the best compromise, as it sounds like a lot of people still want the POTM 'sona pin (myself included!) and it would be fulfilling the original promise of it, while adding a special monthly exclusive pin as part of the higher tier for those who pledge more. This way nothing is really being taken away, only something added (unless anyone in the Super POTM tier would really rather have three of the fursona pin instead of one fursona pin of the month and two of the limited exclusive for the month)

I was really excited about getting a random fursona a month tbh. Felt more like being part of a “club”? Like the exclusive pins would be neat but it’s not the same ya know? Royalties non-withstanding, im in it for the ‘sonas!

That would be a completely fair and well compromise and more or less inline with what Artie suggested. The problem is, is people really want that exclusive product but we all want the POTM character to get the royalties. That's a fantastic idea as far as that goes. It gives a lot of incentive to go for the higher pledge and it'd satisfy everyone. I for one would upgrade my pledge now from $10 to $25 if there was an exclusive pin and it helped the POTM character. To be honest this is pretty much one of the coolest patreon models I've ever seen.

Unfortunately we can't split it up like that - it's either one or the other for the $10 tier because we need the minimum order of 100 to do exclusives for the club. We could offer a character and two exclusives in the $25 tier though? How does that sound?

I like Artie's thoughts! I think I might like to reverse it to having the exclusive pin included in the POTM tier, and then have the option of pledging into a higher tier to get the voted-on OC pin as originally planned.

i think that a good idea would be to have it like it was origionally thought, with the POTM being a character being chosen to be made into POTM, but with additional pins on occasions like a pride pin as you mentioned, or holidays like christmas and halloween, i think the idea of someone here in the community being made into the POTM would be a great fun, and a great initiave for patrons to get a pin commision, while also having special unique pins, like the holiday ones, made exclusive to patrons.

Artie kinda hit the nail on the head. If it were set up as two POTM plus one exclusive for the super POTM tier I'd easily wanna bump up to that. That seems like a better way to go with this.

I think Artie has the right idea! I initially subscribed to the Pin of the Month because I'd like a new character pin each month, but I also like this exclusive pin idea, too. Perhaps a new tier could be created- somewhere between PotM and Super PotM that includes one "special" and one "character" pin for those like me who'd want both? I'd definitely be down for that!

This is something that had already crossed my mind that I was going to ask about, as I love the idea of limited edition pins that aren't obtainable in any other way, and Patreon rewards seem the best avenue for such a thing. Since people seem to like the idea of having someone's character pin also be considered for POTM though, I wonder if a compromise might be to offer the limited edition one each month as part of a higher tier? For example the $10 POTM tier gets you the voted-on character POTM as originally laid out (more of which may or may not be produced in the future), allowing people to try to get their pin out to all patrons if they choose to do so, but the higher $25 POTM tier could be the avenue for the limited pin available only to patrons that month (in addition to the regular pOTM). So maybe the Super POTM tier could be two of the standard POTM and then 1 limited edition pin, still equaling 3 pins in the end. Obviously this would require retooling of the tier description, and I'm not sure if it would affect the price of it at all. Just some feedback with a suggestion that might make both camps happy (and provide incentive for higher pledges!) I love the idea of limited pins though! I am curious though, what would the limited pins be? Some kind of generic character pin or perhaps someone who has agreed to lend their character to being produced on a pin only for patrons that will never be available again? For the latter I imagine said character could still potentially then be produced on a -different- pin though, thus not excluding the individual from being involved with different pins of their character to distribute as they see fit. Curious what the plan would be!

It would be nice to get something exclusive to patrons while letting whoever was voted POTM have theirs sent out and still get the royalties.

Maybe if you have a special edition of the character who is voted to be pin of the month? So people can still collect the characters, but have them be exclusive to the subscribers?

I also agree with the additional bonus- I know I was looking forward to someone in our little community getting a chance to have their pin be sent out to everyone, and get a bit of the profits- and it’s a good way for me to get started on my character collection! Maybe you can do special months (holidays, special events) every so often on top of the monthly character vote :)

I like the additional bonus idea. Or at least the option to add it or the regular monthly pin for a small fee

I second Bubbles. It would be a bit of a bummer if you wanted the character pin. I'd say either make it a choice or an additional bonus on top of the monthly character choice

Maybe it could be a choice of a non official, or official pin ?

Yup! Only the subscribers for the month get that pin, then it isnt available again.

As a collector I enjoy these "once in a lifetime" kinds things! Makes you feel warm inside~

So would this be similar to creating like a "limited edition" pin? That's a neat concept!
