First snaps from Sweden in winter

Hey everyone!

Here are some snaps from the last few days I’d love to share with you. My social media posts are delayed by a few days, so I thought I’d give you a real time update :)

I’m making pretty great progress towards the Arctic Circle at the moment and I might actually reach it tomorrow. Beyond that, there’s still a very long way to go to the North Cape (the northernmost point you can drive to in Europe).

It’s been pleasantly cold, around -5C to -9C last night, and I’ve been super warm and cozy sleeping inside Odyssey with the heater going all night.

The scenery out here is absolutely breathtaking, whether it’s a clear sunset or a foggy snowy morning. The silence hits so deeply that the moment you stand still and listen to it, your ears start ringing.

I’m loving the trip so much that I’m thinking of extending it by about 10 days… but let’s see. I might feel differently once the temps hit the -20s 😅

I’ve had some trouble with video uploads so the next video might only arrive on Tuesday, internet permitting. Sorry about that!

Alright, off to bed - wishing you a lovely weekend and please send some sun my way 🌞

Thanks Tomas!

See in video you are having trouble lifting roof tent. Maybe could use your winch from front bumper, I think you have, to help pull it?

Just love your pictures Eva!!

Cool pics. However, the pics don't show your winter footwear. Are you on X-country skis, by boots alone, or both? Just curious. I also don't see winter hiking/ski poles or eye protection. That stuff is only for when you need it? What gives? On high snowy mntns with snow all around, even with a 0 C temp and no wind, you can still get fried with the sun coming at you from all angles. Of course, in your travels and mountain climbs maybe you've been fried already....LOL.

Nice pics, Eva! -9C - -5C w/o wind is not too cold for me. As long as I'm dressed for the cold temps. Have you ever heard of Wim Hof a Dutchman called the iceman? In 2007, he ran a half-marathon in Finland with only briefs with bare feet. Stay warm.
