Willing to do feedback on any song a patreon sends thru

I’ve been helping a few friends with a compositional and production aspects of noise sounds design recently and have realised I can provide the service to y’all too. Free because you are already giving me money!

Feel free to DM me on the Patreon page (or leave in comments below) for some constructive criticism. Since there are only a few of you I’ll listen to every one.

Also so specify what you want criticism with too: mixing, composition, lyrics etc. even just some reassurance is fine. Generally my specialty is noise and experimental electronica but I can give feedback on other things too. (Like metal, hip hop)

My feedback will focus on what I think the track or release needs to be the best it can be and in rare occasions I can help with mixing and mastering assuming the task isn’t overwhelming.

I’m happy to take both individual tracks and EPs. LPs I can do but might take longer.

Sorry for the lack of stuff recently. I’ve been struggling with my health a lot recently and have only just recovered from the flu again. However this is something more low stakes that I’ve had people ask of me before!

Anyway send em in

This is a lot to get through, so be patient. Downloaded and will try and get around to listening to it all ASAP. Feel free to DM me if you think I have forgotten as I am always quite busy and exhausted. Always excited to hear generative music.

Hello, odd one this, 'hope it at least amuses: (squirming algorithmic/generative horrors) https://ln5.sync.com/dl/133a7b910/7mx56zcw-iupzwngy-ycebg9ua-xbc5e2u7 Guess "all" I'm wondering is "what have I done?" and "What should I do with them?". (Including "Never speak of them again".) I wouldn't call those tracks, rather loops, but then FM3 got away with distributing short loops in little plastic boxes. The duration before they repeat is entirely arbitrary. The same process that produced the pictures produced the noises, which come from short-time inverse FFT abuse in Python. One can slightly parameterize the noises by choosing FFT size, hop-size, how many points from each frame get used per chunk of sound... I've got (potentially) a million of 'em, and the texture and anti-rhythm of the noises does seem to vary not-too-subtly with the shapes. (Actually, it's *worse* than that, there are probably loads more...) Any compression, filtering etc... would need doing as part of the generative process, or It Would be Cheating. What to do? Release the code cleaned up with some sort of GUI so folk can churn them out for themselves? Would anyone else want to do anything with them? Churn out a DVD of looping squirming things for folk to explore a bit like the FM3 Buddha Machines? Take Care and Have Fun, --Giles.
