2020-07-12 22:35:56 +0000 UTCAdding cute mascots and characters everywhere in Japan is a nice way to deal with life, a departure from the daily, sometimes dark realism you can find in some other cultures. Not that it should obfuscate reality, but it gives you a breather. Small local shows are quite popular in Japan as well, like when kids watch super hero shows in the streets, perhaps adults miss those and find an excuse with these touristic shows.
