Gates to the Underworld

You find yourself in a massive stone chamber, quiet except for the crackle of fire. Ahead looms a towering set of dark, ancient doors carved with strange symbols. Flames burn steadily in old braziers, casting warm light on the cold stone walls and long shadows across the floor. A wide staircase leads up to the gate, each step echoing underfoot. Faint beams of light break through from above, barely reaching the sealed entrance. Whatever lies behind those doors hasn't been disturbed in a very long time.
