Lover Analysis Part X- "I Think He Knows"

I discuss how "I Think He Knows" is a perfect puzzle piece to the rest of the Lover album. Taylor uses amazing diction, imagery, symbolism and even allusion in this fun song!

Also-- I was correct in regards to the writer of, "16th Avenue"--it was written by Lacy J. Dalton. The song is about all of the aspiring country musicians that go to Nashville with hopes and dreams. Whether it was an intentional allusion or not, I think it works really well because 16th Avenue represents opportunity for so many. Just as we discussed opportunity with the footprints at the beginning, the speaker is following one of her dreams by diving all in and pursuing the man of her dreams! So cool!

Not sure if you knew that already, but 16th Avenue is also a street in Nashville where Taylor spent a lot of time writing songs when she was a teenager. This has been confirmed by herself in 2019, "That’s a street in Nashville where I used to write songs. The songwriting/publishing houses are on that street, so if you’re wondering if I just picked a random number, I didn’t." I think this could mean this relationship is making her childish or wild like when she did as a teenager?

Are you by any chance going to do the song "It's Nice To Have A Friend"? It's one of my favorites, but beyond that, I've noticed soooo many people on Twitter say they're confused about that song for some reason πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ so an analysis would be great πŸ’œπŸ’œ

I like how defensively you say β€œgrownup can skip too!”!! Amen. Amen!

It’s one of my faves from the RED album and I love finding parallels between Taylor’s songs πŸ₯°

Iolita Kovatchki

Woah!! I never even made that connection!! I used to LOVE that song back in the day 😭😭😭

I like the parallel between "good ones never wait" and "good girls, hopeful they'll be and long they will wait" from Sad, Beautiful, Tragic

Makes sense! It's a really famous location in Nashville for aspiring musicians! That's what the song "16th Avenue" is about! I think this allusion works well because 16th Avenue represents opportunity and dreams and change and all of those thrilling aspirations that we have as young people. I love that Taylor talked about all of the love songs she wrote there because so many beautiful love songs have been created and produced there! Love it! Thanks for watching ❀❀❀

Taylor had said in an interview that she didn't randomly choose a number, but the avenue where the studio in Nashville that she wrote so many of her love songs at.

Not my mom calling me from her new number multiple times while I was recording this πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Sorry for the distraction, y'all! I hope you still enjoyed this!
