Why on earth is Kontakt the standard when it comes to samplers? It's so damn slow selecting 50 individual groups in order to do round-robin sampling. I would just use shortcircuit but that's unreliable when reloading project for some reason.
Anyway, I figured since I recorded a whole bunch of acoustic drums one at a time for specific songs, I may as well make Kontakt instruments out of those samples. So now I have a flexible "raw" snare with lots of round-robins and velocity sensitivity, and lots of handclaps I can bash the keyboard to the beat to. Really electronic repetitive sounding drums aren't my cup of tea at all, I need some variety, so this is a nice balance of obviously thumpy EDM beats but with real varying drum sounds.
