I caught the convolution bug. Had some fun recording various impulses of different places. So far only got the basement, an echoey room upstairs, and the click of a megaphone turning one. Combining all three and adding it to some distorted music makes it sound like a deserted shopping mall running the same music out of crap horn speakers long after the neutron bomb dropped (or something like that I don't know), anyways convolution impulses are a lot of fun and something that's been missing from my cartoons and music to add that extra hyper-realism of environment acoustics.
There's a couple "cuts" to sound closer to the source which is just two different impulses, one closer to the microphone, one farther away.
Music used: Music For Many Moods, (PA bloke I recorded in Manchester), Henry Mancini - The Greatest Gift, Manuel De Sica - Amanti Bossa Nova
The background hum is the underground server at the hotel I used to work at (which also played badly distorted music coincidentally; this is really just a grim exaggeration of that).
