X-sheet for the paperless animator

Just a mockup concept of an idea. A hodgepodge of a traditional x-sheet, a bar sheet, and a timeline like you see in Flash or ToonBoom.

The purpose is to still be able to direct timing and motion and compares more to the animation software's timeline rather than the vertically orientated traditional x-sheet.

Usually new drawings are represented with little grey blocks that look identical to every other drawing and there's no tempo markers in sight, only a string of numbers.  With this pseudo-timeline-xsheet you can draw in the tempo markers and mark where the main poses are with a little 'X'. Then you can refer to the frame number so you can find what frame they happen, and when the beats are.

Along with being able to see the dialogue relating to time instead of just a waveform, you can also write in a stave and musical score if it's a musical production.

Traditional x-sheets have all the drawing numbers and layers, but that's not really anyone's concern but the animators when working digitally, and that's already presented in the software. There's no camera rostrum operator to read when the drawings happen on what frame because today it's all animated and drawn all at once, with immediate playback.

This concept may require a tonne of adjustments and improvements, but I think I might be on to something here.
