Chapter 253: The Premiere of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure! (Part 15)

The fierce clash between Jonathan and Dio had come to an end.

But before the audience could even breathe a sigh of relief, the story unfolded in a way no one expected.

Within the ruins of the Joestar mansion, now reduced to ash and rubble by the raging fire, a shadowy figure appeared.

It was the very man who had once sold poison to Dio.

He scoured through the debris, rummaging like a scavenger.

At last—his hand closed around something.

The Stone Mask.

Just as a triumphant smile was about to spread across his face, a withered arm suddenly shot up from the rubble and clamped down on his wrist.

“Hhhhhh…!”

From beneath the collapsed mansion, a pair of cold, piercing eyes glared out.

A single glance was enough to reveal the terrifying truth.

Dio was still alive.

Inside theaters across the Empire, the tension was unbearable.

The crowd sat on the edge of their seats, blood rushing hot through their veins.

Who could have imagined it?

That Jonathan—just an ordinary man—would be able to stand toe-to-toe in such a desperate, blazing battle against Dio.

On that silver screen, the audience bore witness to the true meaning of human courage.

And they saw just how far a person’s willpower could take them, even against impossible odds.

“That was insane! I always thought movies were overrated—people kept hyping them up, and I figured, ‘how good can it be?’ But I was dead wrong. Completely, utterly wrong. Movies are amazing!”

“Same here! That was incredible. I’m never shutting up about this!”

“Unbelievable… Jonathan had every disadvantage stacked against him, and still he fought Dio to the bitter end. This just proves it—no matter how big the gap in power, with courage and wit, there’s always a chance to turn things around!”

“Right? Sure, the story had some parts that weren’t exactly realistic— but honestly, for a mere human, Jonathan pushed himself to the absolute limit.”

“But wait— Dio didn’t actually die, did he? If he’s still alive… how are they supposed to kill him for good?”

“That’s the problem. Dio’s already been defeated once. Next time, he’ll be more cautious. There’s no way the same opportunity will ever come again.”

“Maybe so. But somehow, I just can’t believe Dio’s schemes will ever succeed. Someone will rise up to stop him—I’m sure of it.”

“Yeah… now I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

The theater buzzed with heated chatter, the audience completely enthralled.

By the time the lights dimmed again, everyone was hooked.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure didn’t rely on cheap twists or outlandish shock value.

Its strength lay in its unpretentious duels, its earnest dialogue, and its unshakable spirit.

And that sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone who watched.

Meanwhile, at the Imperial Mage Academy.

Even the mages were astonished.

None of them had believed Jonathan could actually defeat Dio—a vampire whose power dwarfed human limits.

But now, their surprise gave way to admiration.

Of course, even the students of the Academy could spot certain gaps in logic within the story. Yet instead of nitpicking, they found themselves swept away by the sheer momentum and atmosphere.

In the end, it felt natural, almost inevitable.

“Never thought Jonathan would actually manage to kill Dio…”

“I’d say it was thanks to his unyielding willpower, his unwavering courage… and a terrifying streak of luck. If even a single step had gone wrong, Dio would’ve crushed him.”

“You know, this reminded me of Paradox Spiral. That idea that, when humanity is threatened, the collective will of mankind chooses a hero—someone who might not even realize they’ve been chosen—to stand against the source of evil.”

“Now that you mention it, yeah. That fits Jonathan perfectly. His strength wasn’t enough, not really—but even so, he managed to bring Dio down. Almost like… he was chosen by fate itself.”

“But in the end, it was Jonathan’s own courage and willpower that carried him through,” one student argued. “I think the core of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is completely different from The Garden of Sinners. Sure, both touch on the idea of fate—but JoJo says that courage and will can shatter destiny’s chains. The Garden of Sinners, on the other hand, insists no one can ever escape their origin.”

“I’ve never really liked fatalism,” another said. “This world is shaped by our hands alone. We’re the creators of our own destiny.”

“Exactly. The two works have completely different cores. Best not to lump them together.”

“Still… Dio is so overwhelmingly strong. If he really does come back, how in the world can he possibly be defeated? It sounds impossible.”

“I wouldn’t know. After all, JoJo’s setting doesn’t even have magic to fall back on.”

“Then the outlook is grim, to say the least.”

“…”

Despite the pessimistic words, the gleam in the mages’ eyes told a different story. They were brimming with anticipation, eager to see just how many more surprises this film had in store.

Far to the south, at the Southern Frontier Garrison—

The soldiers could barely contain their excitement. Watching their two commanders clash amidst a raging inferno had set their blood on fire. They shouted and cheered, swept up in the fury of the duel.

Both combatants had shown overwhelming strength, sharp cunning, and an iron resolve.

To the soldiers, this was no mere film about a human fighting a vampire—it was a spectacular action epic, unlike anything they could normally witness.

After all, when else could common footsoldiers ever hope to see two Sword Soul cross blades with such ferocity?

And as the battle ended, yet another spark lit in their eyes. Dio still lived. Which meant that Jonathan and Dio would clash again.

And the soldiers could hardly wait.

. . .

“How very interesting.”

At the Southern Territory Grand Duke’s estate, Arcueid smiled faintly.

Her reaction startled Constantine.

For all the films he had screened before her, not once had this vampire given such high praise.

But Arcueid paid no heed to his surprise. Her golden eyes remained fixed on the flickering images before her, her mind stirring with echoes of an ancient past. Memories long sealed away now stirred restlessly, pulled forth by this tale of humans battling vampires.

And on the silver screen, the story pressed forward.

Jonathan, battered and broken after the mansion battle, was carried to a hospital by Speedwagon.

The young hero who had struck down a vampire now lay with nothing left—his body wounded, his heart weighed down, stripped of nearly everything he had once cherished.

Speedwagon, watching his friend suffer in silence, clenched his fists. The sight of Jonathan’s loneliness struck him to the core. Somewhere deep within, he vowed that he would find a way to help this man who had given everything for the sake of humanity.
